I’m New
All are welcome
At William Street United Methodist church, when we say “all,” we mean ALL. We believe that ALL people are beloved children of God. No exceptions, no conditions.
When we say “welcome”, we mean all people are welcome to participate fully in worship and in our activities and outreach. When we say “welcome,” we mean there is a place for you. Alone — or with your “crew” — you will find acceptance and a lived-out message of love and grace. When we say “welcome” we mean we want to partner with you in serving God and God’s people. Most of all, we mean ALL are welcome to join in this community of followers of Christ as we strive to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8)
What else does a “Bill Street” welcome mean?
- It means children and youth are a vital part of who we are. Kids can enjoy the children’s message during the service, make use of the nursery or our “pray-ground”, participate in Worship Wings (a children’s “Sunday School” during the last half of worship) or attend worship the entire service. Youth and children are encouraged as leaders of the church and teens are invited to participate in Intertwine Youth.
- It means several ‘all gender’ restrooms and restrooms in our children’s spaces.
- It means welcome to an inclusive table–at the Table of Holy Communion and the table of fellowship.
